winter peggy...

Here we are again. Reduced to taking outfit pictures late at night. I no longer have the  luxury of hopping out of college for a few minutes to take snaps in the crisp daylight with my friend and photographer Paula. I must wait til I get home from work (before or after dinner I'm not picky). If I could remember to take photos on the weekend I wouldn't be in this problem.... But that's no fun.

I wore an outfit similar to this during the summer and then I felt quite 'Peggy'. Mad Men was calling me! Due to the weather (how miserable has it been this week?) I've had to make tweaks to my Peggy outfit and with my hair it's usual loose and messy self it looks like quite a modern bookish outfit. Which I love of course. Nothing better then librarian chic! Except for old Hollywood Glamour obviously... From my blue suede shoes to my gold watch to my tweed skirt I feel all wintery and studious (and sort of rock 'n' roll), but thankfully I merely look studious and don't actually have to study and worry about books and exams and the likes.*All I'm missing is my good ol' faithful satchel. And as I said in the last post these shoes are getting worn constantly. I think I need to give them a little break for a few days. Poor things...

laced up work...

I'm sure you guys are all aware that I am now a fully fledged working girl. Melanie Griffith eat your heart out! One of the great bits about my job (there are many thankfully) is that I have pretty much free range in terms of attire. As long as I look respectable I can wear what I like! And my shoe of choice has turned out to be heeled, laced brogues. In the past month I have bought two completely gorgeous and completely different pairs for work (and for general purposes too of course). One pair were a gift from myself one were a gift for my graduation. What I love is that they are both beautiful but both so different in style. One pair is super girly and quirky (satin laces, yes please!) and the other I find to be quite masculine (well as masculine as a heeled shoe can be).

In this cold weather my boots are getting used quite a lot but my new shoe of choice for work in winter (until it gets really slippy) are brogues. Heeled and laced tight! And no one can see my silly socks...

working girl...

Didn't think I'd be saying this for awhile but I am a busy girl at the moment... With the blog and working on FELT and working half days at my new internship (woot!) I sometimes feel a little run off my feet! Thankfully, I still manage to get a run in and enjoy the evenings (and lunch times) with the fella. But this hectic schedule has me all in a tizzy about what to put on in the mornings. I want to look respectable (the dress code in work is respectable/casual) but here in Carlow we are getting some seriously sticky weather so I am finding it hard at times to look well while still remaining cool and comfortable. In an ideal world all these items would be in my wardrobe. Smart low heeled brogues (for the running around), a shirt dress would be comfortable yet smart (depending on how you wear it), a watch to keep me on time and on top of everything and a gorgeous bag to throw everything into. 

Unfortunately this is not an ideal world so I will have to make do with what's already in my wardrobe for the time being... I can totally make this work!
