warm fingers...

Ok my first proper post in awhile... Forgive me, I need to get back into the swing of things. Well my camera is on the fritz so the next few posts will be items like this and probably so dodgy iPhone snaps. Enjoy!

Anyway, getting into the car the past few days my poor hands have been subjected to frozen steering wheels and icy breezes. I know it's the first of November now so I should be expecting that but the truth is that I haven't thought to buy gloves yet. (I need to rectify that this weekend on my Saturday ramble with my ma.) I did a little online browsing to find some inspiration and I feel I've found a pair for the three sides of my style... Well the three sides that I'm aware of anyway.

Little Princess: A side I don't show a whole lot of but she comes out in my accessories and in my love of sparkles and bows. This pair are from the Etsy shop Gertie Baxter and come in a few colours but I'm of the opinion if you're gonna go girly you need to go the whole hog. If I had these I would be pairing them with a navy full skirted coat, a fur collar and nude fishnets.

Mature Elegance: I swear I'm elegant (SERIOUSLY!). Well even if I have the grace of a baby elephant I still want to look sleek. These gloves are from Echo at Modcloth. What I love about them is the rich teal colour and then the subtle trim. Adding a bit of spice without looking over the top. I'd pair these with a fur swing coat, emerald earrings and black stilettos.

Chic Wanderer: This is me most of the time, messy and slightly confused but still tries to make the effort. I think it works! Well the perfect pair of gloves for this side of me is a pair of mittens from Bonzie. Snuggly and covered in the prettiest bits the world has to offer! Would look amazing with an oversized coat and some leather ankle boots.

So there you have it! I'll probably end up buying a cheapo pair from Penneys (rent and the commute are taking all my money!) But if I had a choice it would be one or all of these babies!

summer wanting...

Is that sunshine I see outside... Probably not but I'm going to pretend it is. I can actually feel the heat on my back as I type this. So.... as we head into summer I realised that after my weight loss (about 18 pounds and counting!) I don't have loads of great casual pieces. I need to get a few pieces to tide me over... And of course a few new accessories to jazz up what I already own (and what fits me again.) These pieces are but a few things I want to get for myself (I'm also getting my talented friend to make me a dress.) I also need to invest in shorts but I haven't found the perfect pair yet.

wishing and wanting...

Now that we are fully settled into this season I feel I can look for pieces to add to my existing wardrobe. To just update it that little bit... Practical pieces that can be worn with an arrange of items I already have tucked and shoved away in my presses. Pieces that can be used everyday, that will fit neatly into my lifestyle. Thankfully this list isn't as large a list as I might have suspected at first (but that probably won't stop me from buying other things not on this special thoroughly thought out list of mine).

The three key pieces as you can see are a pair of sturdy yet beautiful boots. Boots have become an important staple nowadays.... A quirky jumper, both comfy and pretty. A win win in my books! And finally a leather look bag from Asos. I love black and metal together and I think I could/would fit loads in it.

What are your key pieces you hope to buy this season?

soft and light...

Believe it or believe it not, Carlow is having a lovely day. I hope it's the same for everybody...

I went to work in a denim shirt and ski pants thinking it wouldn't be all that beautiful out. Thankfully, I was wrong and as soon as I came home I was out of the heavy black and into the super light and super soft white. This dress is the perfect summer dress in my opinion, it's comfy yet still fitted, it's white (which as you all know reflects the light away to keep one all cool and lovely) and it's really cute. Little house on the prairie and all that shiz. AND all those little holes make it very airy! Perfection... The only thing I am not to pleased about is how low this dress is for a 'day dress'. It's grand for some people but I always feel like Bosoms MaGee most of the time anyway so it's not the best. Tis simply rectified with a lace body underneath though. Result!

To follow on in the comfort and coolness stakes I pinned back my hair loosely and donned chunky sandals. Now to find somewhere cool to work...

whimsical designs...

I just thought I'd share this gorgeous little Etsy boutique called Mocki Designs which is based in New York. I bought one of her pieces for a friend and I simply fell in love with her whimsical baroque style pieces. Each piece is unique and really quite breath-taking! They are like something out of Midsummer Night's Dream... They aren't the cheapest of pieces on the planet but they aren't terribly expensive either. And I can understand why they cost what cost considering she makes them all herself by hand.

She also makes rings, bracelets and earrings but I am obsessed with her necklaces! I am currently saving up to buy one for myself... And I am also really tempted to keep the one I bought for my friend.

I am working.... working hard. College life will soon be over and I can go back to dressing pretty, going out and having a good time. But until then I will dream of and be inspired by the things I see as I surf the web (while resting of course).

I will continue to love adorable couples photos, insist on devouring odd looking pizzas, lust after gorgeous bullet bras (which look really comfortable), wonder whether to dive into the world of dip dye and search for the perfect suit!
