Gypsy stripes...

I love this dress... so comfy, pretty and a serious bargain at €3 in Oasis! I caught the shadow of it today while walking and it looked gorgeous! (Wish I had my camera to catch it). Since it wasn't cold today I decided to team it with my tan boots and a cardigan and nothing else (it was so refreshing not to have to wear tights or a jacket.)

Getting very sick of tights... that time of year again.

Which one are you?

from Stumbleupon...

Warm feelings...

These are two items of clothing that I rarely wear. Both I find hard to team with anything else. Who would have thought they would have worked together?!

This, to me, is a great casual, spring look. Light and airy but respectably covered up as it still is only March. I was having serious problems getting dressed this morning. It is that winter/summer transitional period where the weather changes so suddenly, and even if it is sunny it may not be warm.

At least I got to wear my new Raybans!

Would ya look at me...

Howdy all! Busy week in college so I haven't been blogging like I ought to. I promise to do better, I really do. Until then, here I am in two different places. Just in case you miss me...

I was lucky enough to do a guest post over at Blaubushka

And... I was interviewed by the lovely Lady Peach.

Yellow like the daffodils...

Today is so beautiful! I really don't want do any essay work. Sadly I must... but at least I can wear pretty things.

This dress is one of my favourite items in my wardrobe. It is my vintage 60s dress, now a little loose on me but hey thats what belts are for. I have posted this dress but in a slightly different style. I am always confused as to what shoes to wear with it, so if in doubt go for the brightest pair you own.

The t-bars make me feel so lady-like (even if the are yellow). They are part of my day heel collection and are becoming more integrated into my day-to-day wardrobe (they still hurt me though). My feet will learn!

Dress: Vintage
Belt/Shoes: Penneys
Necklace: Gift

I hoped everybody enjoyed Paddys Day in their own way... The boyfriend and I brought my dog for a walk in Glenbarrow (most beautiful place in Ireland!) and then onto the pub with my friends. Was a great night and I wore my tinsel green shoes just for the occassion.

Style @ Set...

People! ABSOLUT Style @ Set is back! (eeek!) And they say it’s bigger than last year! Following the success of the inaugral fair in 2010, this full on fashion extravaganza will now take place in both the SET Theatre and the Ballroom of Langton’s House Hotel, Kilkenny on 22/23/24 April 2011.

FILMS, TALKS, FASHION AND BEAUTY!
Organised by writer/stylist Blanaid Hennessy, ABSOLUT style at Set is no ordinary fashion event, no MCs or the usual catwalk shows, it’s simply another world in which to escape for a few days. And it is thoroughly worth it...
ABSOLUT Style @ Set will host a Friday filled with free fashion films (so one can sit back with friends and enjoy a good giggle or tear (as in the case for me and my friend last year). Saturday and Sunday will be filled to the rafters with vintage stalls, guest speakers, wine tasting, ABSOLUT Vodka cocktails, hair & beauty zones and so much more. I promise you, you WON'T get bored.

STANDS AT SET
This year they've mixed things up with vintage fashion, furniture and vintage-style wedding stands. Favourites from last year such as Bonzie, Smoking Lily and Vintage Emporium join new and very welcome additions such as Dandelion Daydreamer, Elsa & Gogo, Lark Vintage and many more! Full lists of stands and info will be available on their facebook page and website over the next few weeks.

SPRING BREAK!
This year also sees the return of the incredible ‘Style Nights Out’. Last Year it was the Mad Hatters Tea party which was amazeballs! This Saturday night will host the shenanigans of the ‘ABSOLUT YOU’ the brand new night from ABSOLUT featuring interacitve sets by DJs ‘Synth Eastwood’, audio and visual art designed by You and teapots of intense ABSOLUT Vodka cocktails by ABSOLUT. Sunday night will feature all kinds of old school, with renowned 80’s tribute band ‘Spring Break’ taking to the stage, followed by some 90’s hip hop and dance tunes from our DJ. Alternative/fancy/whatever you like dress is recommended!

People who have come before I need not convince you, you know it was amazing and shall be again. Newcomers, COME! Seriously, was so much fun last year and I cannot wait for this year.

Graphic Monday...

This work was done for the Biopolitan Project. The project invited graphic designers to create work to say something about the planet we live in and the fact that the other forms of life that we share this planet might not be around soon unless we change what we do.

I think they are lovely pieces, would hang them on my wall...

Gimme...

Just a little bit of lusting going on over here at Rose Tinted Uncertainty on this Saturday morning. I spotted these on Office today and now I want them... I mean really really want them... not fair! Especially since they are nearly €70! I know I would live in them over the summer and a few times in the cooler months with tights but I don't have that kind of money (starving student and all that).

The vintage feel of them is pulling at my heart strings, from the shape of the shoe to the colour scheme... sigh. They are so beautiful. They come in a red as well but the blue is way better (in my opinion at least).

Is there anyone else in the same boat? Lusting after objects they simply cannot afford...

All in knots...

Topshop
New Look

Asos

Oh how I want one of these shirts! Perfect for the summer with the legs out and eyes hidden with big shades. No sleeves to restrict me ( I find shirt sleeves restricting at times) and a tie to define my waist. And it is so youthful, fun and a little bit edgy (like your the bad girl from a fifties movie with a cigarette in your mouth- even though I hate smoking). What more could a girl ask for?

I genuinely feel this style of shirt is versatile. I can see myself wearing it with flares and wedges, with a long tube skirt and flip flops, with little khaki shorts and cons, with a skater skirt and pomps... the list is surely endless.

I do think my personal favourite is the monochrome pineapples. The pattern is quite quirky but is calmed by the muted colouring. I can see it matching my new RayBans nicely.

Graphic Monday...

Just a quick Graphic Monday since that thesis proposal is still looming (gonna get to bed for a good night sleep- busy day tomorrow). These have been popping up every so often when I am researching for my projects and I always liked the look of them (especially the batman one). The designer, Michael Myers, loves vintage-style posters and comic books so he (naturally) combined the two.

See more after the jump!

Enjoy!

Procastination + Shopping...

In the middle of writing another thesis proposal (she didn't like the last one) and this time it's the big important one (eeek!). So in the midst of researching, reading, writing and all that jazz I've been eagerly spending the last of my birthday money.

I bought two pretty amazing things, a gingham halter top and a flowery dress. Both from Vivien of Holloway, both utterly gorgeous, both screaming vintage and both on sale! The last thing I bought was a dress for my birthday which cost €114 (still have no photos of me in it yet!) so the fact that I got all this for €83 makes me feel good!

I even know where I am going to wear that dress first. I've a 21st dinner to go to in April and I plan on wearing it with some summery/strappy/black wedges and a matt black belt (but I must also purchase a white one because it looks so darling with it!)

Hoping I'm gonna look super cute!
