tomgirl...

I am going to TRY really hard this autumm/winter to include the masculine touches that I love so much into my day to day wardrobe. I have tried before unsuccessfully, it seems the curvy shape is quite hard to make boyish. So I am going to have use what I know work: fitted shirts, woolen coats, loafers (heeled and flat) and skinny/tapered silk trousers. These will keep me looking curvy (not dumpy) and still add a little bit of boyish flare to the mix. A tailored vibe that will enhance whatever feminine pieces I choose to wear with them because obviously I cannot completely give up on my love of dresses, diamonds and dark dark lace. But saying that I am really keen to show another side to myself. Like everyone, I crave something new to play with and that something new just happens to be my style. Like most of us ladies I'm sure!

Luckily I have somethings on my list (so I don't have to go on some mad shopping bender) but I will need to make a conscious decision to make the masculine pieces I desire the top of my winter shopping. Crisp white shirts, silk trousers, patent flat loafers... All these must be gotten. First up, is the hunt for the perfect white shirt. A simple task surely! I can see my bust being a problem here, I'll keep you posted.

What are your plans for your winter wardrobe?

easy comfort...

I ache today... Being "fit" all of a sudden is hurting me. Damn those runs! So being comfortable was essential to me today. At least I figured that out after being in a fitted enough dress and high heels.* I needed to change. I craved trousers! Unfortunately mine are all in the wash (all two of them) and these pair are on their last legs! No pun intended...

I need to stop buying shoes and buy some serious clothes. By serious I mean stuff I actually need. Like more trousers, especially if this weather continues. I can't stand wearing tights anymore (the sheer effort of putting them on in the morning is heartbreaking) but bare legs is an obvious no no, so trousers are indeed needed. Plus they look more casual and I really don't own enough "nice" casual things.

I am currently rectifying the matter...

*I am aware I am still wearing heels but what you need to understand is that these heels are like wearing flats... so so comfortable!

pants...

I want these pants! They're blue, gingham, cropped and high waisted! Simply perfect for the summer months (whenever they decide to come). AND they are on sale. What's not to love?!?!? Frankly I don't care if no one else likes them, they are being bought! Well they will be bought soon... very soon.

see I wear colour...

See I can totally wear colour... I told you I could. But in small doses and with loads of black to ease me into it. Also these trousers are the most comfortable things I own! It's like wearing pyjamas except they're not covered in little pink piggys or teddies. Probably ridiculously unflattering on me considering they are pleated and tapered. But I stuck on heels and a pretty necklace to make that all better. I hope...

wish I was wearing #10

There are some days when you want to feel grown up and there are some days when you want to feel comfy and there are days when you want to feel both. So far this week I've been wanting to feel both and I am not succeeding. I need trousers like these... Luxurious with a hint of comfort and casualness. Dress them up with heels and some bling bling for a grown up day feel or easily dress them down with busted converse, a band tee and blazer. Perfect pants? I think so...

They might be going on my "more than a wish list."

Cool trousers for a warm day...

I got pants! Very happy about this. Got two pairs actually, these and a slightly fancier black pair for a grand total of €23! Two pairs for that price? I'm well pleased with myself. I have a feeling I am gonna be living in this pair, unnaturally comfortable. I've been getting great use out of that pink belt, I am constantly wearing it. It does help that my favourite hand bag is the same colour. Matchy matchy!

Love these shoes too but I find them hard to pair with things, maybe I'm just not being daring enough. Good for this colour block trend as well. Love when something you already own is bang on trend.

I feel I match my mother's lawn furniture very well, with my blue and pink. Oh and apologies for the funny face!

Colour me pants...

What I want for my wardrobe (apart from skinny black crop pants) is a pair of bright coloured trousers. On the search for the perfect pair, I also have to save for them. These beauties are from Zara at around €40, which I think is pretty decent.

The real question is what colour to get... I'm leaning towards blue hues. At first I wanted an orange pair but my boyfriend said I'd look like I escaped from prison... so maybe not. I am dying to wear them with a white or black fitted tee and my pink and purple block colour heels.

What colour would you go for?

A few new things...

No Graphic Monday this week since it is my RAG week. I am not thinking about work this week (apart from my thesis... grrrr). So how about an outfit post instead? Huh? Yeah. Knew you'd be fine with that.

Most of this outfit is new actually. Only the jumper is old (and quite old, got that before coming to college). The trousers and loafers were bought out of my birthday money as well a gorgeous tan bag, those palazzo pants, beautiful wedges and an ever so pretty blue blouse (will be wearing that out Wednesday night so I'll do an outfit post). I think I have spent my money well and I am confident they will get worn a lot. Sure this is my third time to wear these trousers in just over a week.

The pants are to help me move away from jeggings. I am so very tired of them and these trousers are the same as jeggings without all that stretchy nonsense, they are fitted. I am looking forward to dressing these babies up!

The loafers are brand new, just bought today. So comfy with a good, sturdy sole (nothing annoys me more than a flimsy sole). I also love the colour, not quite blue but not quite grey. I have been needing to buy new flats, most of my old ones are now too tired and worn out to be taken seriously. Also bought a dotey nude ones with faceted baubles on the toe. Pretty!

I may just shop too much...

Looking Well...

Last Sunday was my friends 21st birthday. Above is the birthday girl in question. Tracey is a dear friend and an avid follower of this blog (which is so sweet of her). She had a little house party and then we all scampered off into town for a good knees up!

Anyway, the reason she is on the blog is because of this wonder of a dress wrapped around her! Isn't it just stunning!? I am so jealous she has it and that it would never look as good on me as it does on this young lady... grrrr

And that bag! Well of course it was amazing because I bought it for her (he he). I was worried the knuckle duster clutch would be too mad an item but thankfully she loved it as did her mother and everyone else at the party! I kept spotting it being passed around.

Now an outfit post would not be complete without me posing my bottom off! In the bathroom of the pub I'll have you know...

My aim was "New York effortless cool" and I think I pulled it off (hopefully)! I dared to wear leather leggings as trousers and I'm so glad I did. I know I have worn them loads but never with anything as short or tight! I read somewhere that "leather trousers were not for the faint hearted or thick thighed" and that made me more determined to wear them...

Its all pants...

Now I do consider myself a fully paid up member of the skirts and dresses club, but I do like a good pair of trousers (and leggings) and I am currently lusting after these three pairs. I love each pair equally and would be more than happy to have any of them on me.

The first pair are these paneled treggings from River Island and they were the first pair that I noticed. The are made of a stiff enough material so I would love to wear them as proper trousers (I think I do that with most of my leggings now). When I first saw them I thought a crisp white shirt, a boyfriend blazer and stilettos. Kind of like a sexy suit.

The second pair are these gorgeous wide leg trousers from Topshop. I think they look so unique and stylish. They have an old world charm to them and would look beautiful with a silk fitted blouse and a fascinator/beret and dark coloured lipstick. Very Dita!

The last pair I actually tried on last week and even though they were a wee bit tight I still loved them! Rolled to the ankle and paired with a tux jacket, stilettos and blinging earrings! Oh I want!  They are from Oasis...

I am in a trouser loving mood at the mo, I only really have one pair. Must get more!
